Item Dificultades para el diagnóstico acertado del trastorno por déficit de atención e hiperactividad [tdah] en niños escolarizados: una revisión narrativa de literatura(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2024) Fontalvo Ortiz, Laura Isabella; Muñoz Uscategui, Gisel Fernanda; Alejandro, Botero Carvajal (Director)Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder is a condition that if not treated effectively affects the overall functioning of the individual. Accurate diagnosis is crucial to prevent erroneous treatment that exacerbates complications, as it has been identified that health and education professionals face challenges related to variability in symptoms, coexistence with other disorders, and the influence of contextual and environmental factors. Currently, diagnostic tools present limitations and there is a need for more specific criteria for its recognition in the school environment. The aim was to analyze the difficulties associated with the accurate diagnosis of ADHD in school children, through a narrative review of the existing literature in databases such as PubMed, ScienceDirect and web of science. The findings showed that factors linked to: perceptions and lack of knowledge about the disease; lack of validity of diagnostic instruments; discrepancies in the results within the evaluation processes; symptoms similar to other disorders; lack of experience of the professional and deficiency in the provision of health and mental health services, were the cause of difficulties for accurate diagnosis. It is concluded that the aforementioned causal factors generate difficulties associated with clinical malpractice and deterioration of global functioning, making it necessary to promote and strengthen psychoeducational strategies to minimize the lack of knowledge that increases the associated difficulties and exclusion.
