Item Cambios en la fuerza muscular durante la maduración biológica en deportistas niños y adolescentes: revisión literaria(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2025) De la Cruz Molano, Valentina; Longa Obregón, José LuisMuscular strength plays a key role in sports performance, and its development is influenced by the different stages of biological maturation. Understanding how it varies throughout the growth stages allows for the optimization of training and the improvement of athletes’ physical performance in children and adolescents in a safe and effective manner. Objective: to analyze the existing literature on changes in muscular strength during biological maturation in child and adolescent athletes. Materials and methods: a descriptive study, scoping review type, following the PRISMA Scoping Review guidelines; databases consulted included Scopus, Science Direct, Taylor and Francis, and PubMed, in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, with descriptive observational, experimental, cohort studies, or case series reports published between 2019 and 2024 containing the following keywords: biological maturation, sexual maturation, puberty, muscular strength, psychomotor performance. Strength assessment was included through different tests and measures: sprint, vertical jump, dynamometry, explosive lower-limb strength test, and progressive load test in children aged 6 to 16 years. Results showed significant variations in muscular strength development across different periods of biological maturation. However, further and more specific research is suggested to expand the understanding of this relationship in various populations and contexts.
