    Nivel de conocimiento sobre seguridad del paciente del personal de enfermería en una clínica privada de la ciudad de Cali. 2022

    Introduction. Knowledge is one of the faculties of the human being, through which he manages to understand the reality that surrounds him and when he perfects it, he reaches levels that give him competencies to perform different activities, which can be expressed in the use of protocols regarding patient safety, helping to successfully address a series of problems in an effective and timely manner in the event of problems arising at the time of providing the service in the health area. For this reason, the W.H.O. has reiterated the importance of conducting training to inform health personnel of the guidelines and/or protocols on patient safety. Objective. To identify the level of knowledge of patient safety guidelines in health professionals of a private clinic in the city of Cali. Methodology. A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out, where a semi-structured survey was applied based on the instructional packages of the patient safety policy in the country, on levels of knowledge of nursing personnel in a private clinic in the city of Cali in 2022, with initial sample (n= 120) and final sample (n=112). The levels of knowledge were defined as Excellent: rating between 4.5 - 5.0, Good: Rating between 4.0 and 4.4, Fair: Rating between 3.0 and 3.9 and Insufficient between 1.0 and 2.9. Results. In the population studied, the female gender predominated with 88%, the young life cycle with 70%, and about schooling, the predominance of technicians was found in 74% and 23% of professionals including post-graduate training, between 78% and 79% worked as nursing assistants and in the hospitalization area, respectively; 40% of the personnel had been working for less than 1 year. Regarding knowledge, a proficient level of knowledge was obtained with 43%, greater knowledge on adverse events with 79%, the level of knowledge on patient identification was excellent in 79% of the people and the level of knowledge on hand hygiene was excellent in 66% of the participants. Conclusion. The overall level of knowledge found in the study population was recorded at the proficient level. It is essential that health professionals acquire adequate knowledge of patient safety protocols to reduce the risk of adverse events and maintain quality in patient care.
