Item Estrategia de mejoramiento socio-ambiental como aporte al Proyecto Ambiental Escolar (PRAE) para el manejo adecuado de residuos sólidos en la Institución Educativa Agropecuaria José(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Lemos Mosquera, Janier Avel; Acosta Portilla, David Ricardo; Granja Escobar,Luis CarlosThe main objective of this research was to carry out an investigation that would allow, through participatory action research, to carry out an improvement plan within the educational institution related to the management and adequate use of solid waste, making use of institutional mechanisms such as the PRAE and related subjects through which teachers carry out training processes in environmental education. The study method used was based on participatory action research, using interviews, surveys and focus group workshops as information-gathering techniques. The target population were teachers, principals and high school students. It was found that despite the existence of means for environmental education and its pedagogical applicability, students and teachers had difficulties in assimilating ecological competencies that would lead to contributing to environmental sustainability within the educational institution and in its natural environment.
