Although this task can require a lot of manual effort, there are automated methods such as web scraping, an efficient solution that allows for the quick and precise extraction of data from multiple websites. The purpose of this project is to create a web scraping tool that allows obtaining relevant data such as prices, descriptions, and product features from competitors, and presenting them in a customized dashboard that meets the specific needs of each business. The goal is to help companies make decisions based on market behavior, improve their pricing strategy, and obtain valuable information about consumer preferences.Item Desarrollo de prototipo de un agente inteligente para extraer información legal en el sitio web de la rama judicial de Colombia(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2025) Guayara Suarez, Víctor Manuel; Waitoto Garces, Luis Felipe; Alomia Peñafiel, Gustavo Adolfo (Director)Efficiency in the judicial system is crucial to ensure fairness and justice; however, the Judicial Branch in Colombia faces numerous challenges due to the manual tracking of legal proceedings, resulting in a high propensity for errors and inefficient use of resources. It is worth mentioning that this project proposes the development of a prototype of an automated legal case management system by means of an intelligent agent, using web scraping techniques. In the same way, this system will improve the efficiency and accuracy in the follow-up of legal procedures, thus optimizing the management of customer relations in a service sector company in Santiago de Cali. In this way, the implementation of this prototype in a web environment will facilitate its connection and use, adjusting to the roles provided to users and optimizing the space in its modules. At the same time, it will provide fast and efficient remote support, which will translate into greater customer satisfaction. In short, the analyses generated by the system will focus on providing better proposals for clients, contributing to an efficient and equitable judicial system.Item Desarrollo de un entorno de realidad virtual (VR) basado en un laboratorio químico de la Universidad Santiago de Cali(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2023) Sánchez Ospina, Juan Sebastián; Cano Villegas, Christian Eduardo; Guañarita Castro, Johan Felipe; Alomia Peñafiel, Gustavo Adolfo (Director)The main objective of this project is to develop a functional prototype of a chemistry laboratory at Santiago de Cali University implementing virtual reality (VR), the development seeks the prevention of accidents due to bad practices of prevention and management of laboratory reagents, in addition to expanding academic and investigative resources in educational spaces. This is divided into a general guide of the correct use of the laboratory and two experimental rooms (pH measurement and caloric conductivity). The project is normally aimed at non-skilled users in chemistry laboratories. This provides a realistic experience and notion in the presence of one, taking into account biosecurity standards in the context of the institution. For the realization of the project, the MEDEERV methodology (Methodology for the Development of Educational Spaces of Virtual Reality) was implemented and taking elements of the "Design Thinking" process. MEDEERV adapted in four steps (Analyze the didactic or academic objectives for the guides of the use of the environment, Design the symbology and the relevant space, Create the details of the scenario and the functionalities of each one and Assets the environment in a recurring way until obtaining a desired result), further details are mentioned in the relevant section. The value proposition with the development of the project is immersion and first-person user interaction involving a practical adaptation of the digitization of scenarios. In addition, being a controlled environment, this will not present any risk to the user.Item Generación automática de reglas procedurales a partir de objetos 3D aplicado al modelado de entornos urbanos (GENOME)(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2025) Calvache Clavijo, Juan Felipe; Alomia Peñafiel, Gustavo Adolfo (Director)3D modeling is a virtualization technique applied in different fields such as architecture, design, video games and digital environments, the characteristics of the different techniques are given by their complexity or time consumption, therefore, the project aims to study the technique known as procedural modeling, for the creation of a tool and a workflow, that allows to reduce the time in the creation of structures in urban environments. The workflow created in the project comprises three phases, the first aims to capture information, data from geographic information systems (GIS) and photographic image analysis are integrated, the second takes the data from phase one where it is processed by software, generating procedural rules that describe how to model the captured building. The third phase consists of implementing the rules generated in Phase 2 in the CityEngine software. This tool uses procedural rules to extrude 2D axioms into complete 3D models. This project was developed in order to create a tool that would allow the construction of these structures so that the process of building digital environments could be streamlined.Item Sistema medidor de xenofobia y de desigualdad social hacia los migrantes venezolanos, utilizando la red social Twitter, en las principales ciudades de Colombia(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2022) Mora Ramos, Bryan Andrés; Guerrero Posso, Kevin Rodrigo; Alomia Peñafiel, Gustavo Adolfo (Director)Currently, there is a large migration of Venezuelans to Colombia, mainly due to political problems. For this reason, they have seen the need to seek asylum in other nations where they can be welcomed without violating their human rights. Therefore, the objective of this research was to build a measure of xenophobia and social inequality in the main cities of Colombia Bogotá, Cúcuta, Cali, Barranquilla and Medellín, through natural language processing using Twitter as a data source, to obtaining tweets used the Twitter application programming interface. The results evidenced an ideal measurement system to quantify the levels of xenophobia among the main Colombian cities presented in circular, linear and bar graphs.
