Item Indicaciones del oseltamivir en casos altamente sospechosos y/o confirmados de influenza(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Villota Grijalba, Anyela Yisel; Hurtado Fernández, Andrés Felipe; Luna Bolaños, Mónica Cristina (Directora)Acute Respiratory Infections (AGs) are among the top ten causes of death in the general population and within the top three in children under five and older than 60, pathogens such as viruses and bacteria found in type A and B influenzas that depend on the seasons and the occurrence of epidemiological peaks, which is why the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2009 generates recommendations for the control and treatment of of the disease, among them are retrovirals such as Oseltamivir that are a group of drugs that act by inhibiting the replication of the virus Different studies show that Oseltamivir shortens the duration of symptoms in patients who have or do not have a risk factor, this in turn reduces hospital stay and decreases the incidence of the disease, on the other hand studies highlight that there are adverse factors related to the consumption of the drug such as the exacerbation of symptoms patients with schizophrenia, others such as hematochonesy and diarrhea. Oseltamivir is distributed under country-based guidance by WHO, although pharmacovigilance studies have shown in different regions of inconsistencies in delivery by government health entities which has generated drug shortages, and it 10 has been observed that Oseltamivir treatment options in relation to presentation have significant difference, as in developed countries they can be found greater number of presentations which produces more options for treatment, so knowing about the drug and its different considerations that are taken into account to be delivered becomes an excellent support tool to improve health service and provide safety and comfort to the patient.
