Item Análisis de relación entre las 2 altcoins con mayor liquidez con el bitcoin en el periodo 2016 – 2017(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Vila Pacheco, Alberth Antonio; Arboleda Riaño, Karen Lizeth; Garcés Isaza, Juan Camilo; Fernandez Hurtado, Saul RickThe aim of this paper is to analyse the two most liquid Altcoins and their relationship with Bitcoin's price from 2016 to 2017, in order to provide a research contribution to this new market known as cryptomonedas. In order to carry out this work, an exploratory methodology is used that allows us to know, through different academic sources, the way in which the prices of the Altoins (alternative currencies to Bitcoin) have been developed in relation to their main representative. Comparing Bitcoin with the main Altcoin models such as Ethereum and Ripple, allows us to have a broad concept about the new models of negotiation, transaction and management of virtual processes that improve competitiveness and costs. In conclusion, the focus of this research made it possible to identify investment opportunities if altcoins are analysed not as a currency but as a project-supported asset, as each altcoins has projects that seek to be financed by fluctuations in their value
