Item Relación que existe entre el maltrato experimentando en la infancia y los estilos de crianza que se ejercen desde la actualidad(2024) Verdugo Hoyos, Herlyn Andrea; Lozano González, Isabella; Ramírez Bustamante, Viviana; Velandia García, AdrianaThe objective of this research project was to understand the relationship that exists between the abuse experienced in childhood and the parenting styles that are practiced today recognizing that what is learned in childhood has an impact on future development, it was based on a detailed analysis of studies and literature on the subject. It began by identifying maltreatment in parenting styles through narratives, then key theories on child maltreatment and parenting styles were addressed. In addition, the research was contextualized in time, space and legal framework related to the prevention of child maltreatment. The proposed methodology focused on dialogues and reflections that allowed understanding the connection between the maltreatment suffered by caregivers in their childhood and their current parenting practices. Using a narrative-based qualitative methodology, this study explored the relationship between child maltreatment and parenting styles. Through in-depth interviews and discourse analysis, the underlying mechanisms linking childhood maltreatment experiences with current parenting practices were identified. The results obtained contribute to a better understanding of the psychological processes involved in the intergenerational transmission of maltreatment, in addition to the reconfiguration of perception regarding maltreatment and parenting practices. Childhood maltreatment experiences influence parenting styles adopted in adulthood. Through qualitative analysis of personal narratives, recurrent patterns were identified in the way child maltreatment is related to dysfunctional parenting practices. The findings support Urie Bronfenbrenner's ecological theory and Diana Baurind's theory of parenting styles and have important implications for the prevention and treatment of child maltreatment.
