Labor informality goes beyond the conception that people who work in the street or who are independent workers are informal, since this term also covers the working class who have not yet legalized their work, or those who have not yet met the requirements demanded by the International Labor Organization (ILO) Informal work is one of the most important actors in the labor market and has become one of the representative icons of Colombian reality, however, it represents at the same time a large-scale economic sector, with specific factors at the level social and living conditions associated with the vulnerability and survival of individuals and families that do not access the formal sector of the economy. Although there are many entrepreneurs within the informal sector who seek to carry out their own business activities, in an organized way being their own bosses, it is also evident that in the informal work sector there is a large majority of people who are forced to develop their business activities. Small-scale production, with poor organization, planning, low productivity, without access regulation and minimum conditions of support and health.
