Más vida menos violencia. Una revisión bibliográfica sobre feminicidio
(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2023) Valencia Miranda, Diana Ximena; Ponte Mejía, Jessika Alexandra; Arboleda Alegría, Maryuri; Giraldo Henao, Carolina (Director)
The purpose of this literature review is to inform the community about the violent and atrocious death of women due to gender, categorized in the Colombian penal system as feminicide. Previously identified as crimes of passion, this social phenomenon involved the premeditated death of a romantic partner or lover, with acts of violence and motivated by feelings such as anger, frustrated or offended love, which culminated in hate. The term feminicide was introduced in the 20th century, initially in the United Kingdom in 1801 to refer to the death of a woman. This bibliographic review aims to understand family structures and dynamics, couple relationships and romantic breakups that lead to conflicts and ruptures in parental ties, giving rise to violence against women and in some cases feminicide. Four main categories of analysis were identified: Gender-justified aggressions and their typologies: Causing harm to women specifically because of their sex, covering psychological, sexual, economic, verbal and physical aspects. Criminal profile: victim and perpetrator of feminicide: The perpetrator is usually someone close to the victim, with strong emotional ties, jealousy and anger. The victims, for the most part, are women with emotional trauma since childhood who have suffered various types of violence. Repercussions of feminicide: The consequences of these acts are analyzed, considering both the psychological impact and the social implications. Legal Framework in Psychosocial Perspective: Law 1761 of 2015, specific to the Colombian case, is examined with a focus on the psychosocial perspective. In conclusion, it is observed that the problem of feminicide originates in violence against women, driven by feelings of domination, anger and hatred, as well as by the persistent patriarchal structure in families. 50 reviews of bibliographic articles were reviewed, mostly obtained from databases such as Dialnet, Sage Journals and SciELO, as well as Google Scholar. Closing discussion on the other hand we dissipate with aspects such as, the Colombian penal system has not considered executing life sentences or much longer punishments severe without benefits, some in their compliance and not only 20 years for the perpetrators, with the objective of imposing the importance of respecting the life of the importance of respecting the life of women.
