Item Importancia de la lateralidad en la natación artística(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2024) Valencia Aguilar, Maritza; Rivera Hurtado, Ferney (Director)Laterality is fundamental in artistic swimming since it has a direct impact on the development of technique, balance, injury prevention, and the adaptability of the swimmer, it has important physical aspects which contribute to the performance of an entire career. sports which are from the technical aspect, the execution of movements such as turns, jumps and precision movements (in figures and elements), thus requiring precise control in laterality. This quality or physical ability also allows swimmers to adapt to different styles and movements. Being ambidextrous can be an advantage in moments of competition where flexibility in performance is required. Working on and developing laterality in athletes can improve confidence in their abilities, allowing them to feel more comfortable and confident when performing movements in both directions. That is why, after researching the work performed on laterality in artistic swimming athletes, this research aims to inform about the importance of this physical motor factor for athletes and how laterality affects performance and technique.
