The objective of this document is to analyze the social representations of domestic violence against women. A systematic review is carried out of academic studies in databases with documents published between 2014 and 2024 that have addressed the social representations of intrafamily, domestic or intimate partner violence against women. The search process was carried out in four phases, in the first the search was carried out in the databases, with the use of DesCs & MesH descriptors, which made it possible to identify a total of 1109 documents that were purified through their reading and analysis. to be left with only 17 of these. In the second phase a critical reading was carried out, in the third the registration was carried out in a matrix where its title, objective, methodology and results were identified. In the fourth phase, the results were analyzed, where four categories were defined. In the results, four categories emerged: I) patriarchy as a social representation organized around the male figure, II) social representations based on the role of men and women, III) subjective theories to justify violence from social imaginaries, IV), narco culture emerges as a construction of a social representation. Each of these associated and interconnected. The internalization of patriarchal and sexist culture in society has a significant impact on the perpetuation of gender violence. Social models reinforce traditional gender roles and male domination, leading to the normalization and legitimization of violence against women. A culture based on patriarchy has internalized domestic violence behaviors that have been socially accepted, even by the victims themselves who do not find psychosocial support in their immediate environment.
