    Diseño de un modelo de gestión por competencias de la Institución Educativa Liceo Calimio Desepaz de Cali

    The purpose of this paper is to design a competency management model for the improvement and organizational strengthening of the educational institution Colegio Liceo Calimio Desepaz, through a descriptive research, the role of the researchers was to analyze the information provided, design tools that allow to implement the required competences in the educational institution. The study is part of the education sector, consists of the design of a competency management model for an educational institution that belongs to the private sector and aims to implement a new management style, seeking to define the behaviors that a person should have for be successful in its performance, contributing to the value chain and contributing to the positioning of the institution.The observation and interview was used as an instrument, the analysis of the institutional educational project that allowed the collection of the information to determine the opportunities for improvement in human resources from the organizational and functional competences, taking as reference the recommendations of the steps of the Doctor Marta Alles. Together with the senior management through meetings at the institution, the vision and mission of the organization was defined, and with the managers, the organizational and specific competences were defined, for which the respective formats and Finally, the process of assigning levels and criteria to competencies was established to determine the profiles of the organization's position, giving solution to the problem posed.
