(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2025) Torres Viveros, Sandra; Valencia Torres, Jair Andrés; Riascos Mina, Lesinton (Director)
The article presents a research project that addresses the need to improve the labor conditions of indigenous communities in Cali, Colombia. The project proposes to carry out a characterization and diagnosis of the labor competencies of the members of this community in order to identify their specific skills and needs. Based on this information, a training pathway will be designed and implemented that respects and values their cultural identity, integrating their traditional knowledge in the field of handicrafts. The main objective is to empower participants by improving their employability and promoting sustainable development through the creation of economic opportunities. It is expected that the results of this research will not only benefit the community in question but also serve as a replicable model for other vulnerable populations facing similar challenges in their integration into the labor market. Additionally, the importance of public policies that recognize cultural diversity as a valuable resource for equitable development in the region is emphasized. The article also highlights the importance of public policies that acknowledge cultural diversity as a valuable resource for equitable development in the region. It argues that the implementation of policies that support the inclusion of indigenous communities in the labor market is not only a social imperative but can also contribute to the construction of a more just and multicultural society. In summary, the project seeks to generate a positive impact on the indigenous community of Cali, promoting their economic and social well-being while preserving and valuing their rich cultural heritage.
