Item Influencia de los entrenadores empíricos en la formación de deportistas elite; Análisis reflexivo(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2025) Herrera Hurtado, Orley David; Torres Cortes, Lenin Fernando; Rivera Hurtado, Ferney (Director)Although empirical coaches lack formal academic training, their practical knowledge acquired on the playing field allows them to significantly impact the technical, cognitive, and emotional development of athletes. Their abilities to motivate, lead, adapt to diverse contexts, and develop resilient, disciplined, and committed individuals are highlighted. This paper reflects on the positive influence of empirical coaches in the development of high-performance athletes, highlighting their ability to connect through experience, lived experience, and emotional closeness. Through transformational leadership based on credibility built by example, these coaches inspire not only to compete, but also to live sport as a way of life. In contrast to academic coaches, empirical coaches provide a human and emotional perspective that strengthens the training process from a practical and ethical perspective. Despite the legal restrictions imposed by Law 2210 of 2022 in Colombia, this analysis reaffirms the value of the know-how, passion, and intangible legacy these coaches leave behind. Their role as agents of change is key to the comprehensive development of athletes capable of facing sporting and personal challenges with conviction, overcoming social barriers and building solid life plans.
