Item Propuesta de un sistema de gestión de inventarios para los ítems tipo a en la empresa seguridad y ferretería Cali S.A.S.(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Sánchez Arias, Jhon Sebastián; León Martínez, Daniel Alejandro; Martínez Escobar, NathalyInventory management is a crucial aspect within a company's supply chain. Currently, the business that is being studied on this paper "Seguridad y Ferreteria Cali S.A.S" does not show any sign of optimal management for its inventory or even some type of measure to control it, this can be observed to a point where it can be shown that around 10% of its current stock it already obsolete and dated; this, as a result, is leading the storage cost to increase and it is also taking away the possibility to prioritize items with higher sales turnover. As a matter of fact, and consecuentally to the previous statement, new P.Os have been getting done in a rudimentary and empiric way and the accounting platforms are being ignored. As it was observed on this research, the most impactful and recurrent flaw that can be observed on this company revolves around bad customer service and constant delays with product deliveries. Taking this into account, it is worth noting that this paper will propose the creation or development of an inventory management system to some product references such as "A" type products in which some stages where created, within them we can find: the use of flowcharts to characterize the current inventory/stock proccess, establishing the demand behaviour for type "A" products through CV indicator, the appliance of a stock forecast model that adecuates to each item's demand and setting a stock policy that adjust to the company's requirements and behaviour. Additionally, it is worth noting that once this implementation was done, an R.S stock policy was able to be set for 18 items that had erratic behaviour on their demand for the most part or even a trend; it was also possible to set some forecast such as croston, simple "EXPONENCIACION", and a "MOVIL" average. It is expected that this methodology, will allow the company to decrease their sold out instances and improve their customer service.
