Item Efectos del ejercicio terapéutico en el síndrome de manguito rotador: revisión de alcance Autores:(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2025) Martínez Albornoz, Daniela; Rosero Revelo, Paola Andrea; Olmos Botero, Jhovanna( Asesora)Rotator Cuff Syndrome (RCS) is defined as a painful and recurrent condition caused by mechanical impingement and subsequent compression of the structures occupying the subacromial space, especially during upper limb elevation, generally related to overuse of the glenohumeral joint. The aim of this review was to analyze the existing literature on therapeutic exercise for rotator cuff syndrome from january 2015 to january 2025. A scoping review was conducted following the PRISMA-ScR (Scoping Reviews) guidelines, using databases such as Springer, Scopus, Science Direct, and Scielo. Among the six articles analyzed, the most common physiotherapeutic interventions were eccentric, isometric, and active exercises with progressive resistance, applied five times per week in sessions lasting 20 to 50 minutes over the course of one year. These techniques showed a reduction in pain, increased strength, improved functionality, range of motion, and quality of life with positive functional outcomes. Modalities such as eccentric, isometric, and progressively resisted exercises have proven effective in stimulating tissue repair, neuromuscular control, and functional recovery. The role of the physiotherapist in the appropriate and progressive dosage of exercise is highlighted for safe and effective recovery. The implementation of therapeutic exercise for rotator cuff injuries, with proper prescription tailored to the symptoms of each individual, is effective in addressing shoulder pain, strength, range of motion, and functionality.
