Item Detección temprana de alteraciones en salud mental en adolecentes escolarizados del Municipio de Palmira en una Institución Educativa pública de la comuna uno en el año 2021.(2022) Cuasmayan Orbes, Jéssika Esmeralda; Torres Culcha, Verónica; Roque Romero, Nayibe Andrea; Bedoya Sandoval, Juan Fernando (Director)The quantitative study, which was descriptive and cross-sectional, assessed the risk of mental disorders in 85 10th and 11th-grade students (aged 16 to 18) from an educational institution in Palmira, Valle. Although most of the young people did not show a high risk of mental disorders or psychological distress nor a family history, the research identified a small percentage who are at risk. Furthermore, it was found that more than 28% of participants reported symptoms of psychological distress, including frequent headaches, insomnia, difficulty making decisions, and loss of interest. The study concludes that, despite the low general risk, these symptoms deserve individualized attention to identify their causes, and emphasizes the importance of protecting and promoting the emotional well-being of adolescents given their inherent vulnerability to age-related changes.
