Item Percepción de los enfermeros sobre el dolor en niños hospitalizados en diferentes instituciones de salud en la ciudad de cali, 2019(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Restrepo Cuenca, Angie Lorena; Castrillón Carabali, Daniela; Ledesma Quintero, Lina María; Ortega, Dina CarmenzaPain has been a problem for millennia, forcing health professionals to be up to date with the tools, therapies and treatments to reduce or eliminate it. (1) As an approach to the problem, it was established that; Pain has historically been one of the pediatric problems to which insufficient attention has been given, but it is even more complex the lower the age of the pediatric patient. Therefore, the research question was: What is the perception of nurses (a) about pain in hospitalized children in different health institutions in the city of Cali 2019? It is of vital importance that nurses who have as their object of care a population group as susceptible as infants are, understand and know that their pain mechanisms are very different from the pain perceived by an adult. For this reason it was determined as a general objective: To determine the perception of nurses about pain in hospitalized children in different health institutions, Cali 2019. Around the methodology the present research is of a qualitative type of phenomenological nature, this sought to describe that Nurses think about pain in pediatrics. 12 nurses participated per open call of which 11 interviews were chosen. The silver categories were: Pain, Children, Nursing Care and Heart Nurses. The results showed that children should be cared for by quality nurses, with knowledge and characteristics in the SER for pain management. All categories and subcategories provide as a final result the central phenomenon that is the "UNIQUE EXPERIENCE". This being the phenomenon identified in the participants through the interviews, the researchers conclude that the perception of each nurse is a unique experience; based on the experiences of each participant.
