Item Violencia económica: un ciclo silencioso de control y dependencia(2024) Rengifo Mosquera, Clara Isabel; Rengifo Piedrahita, Juliana Valentina; Caicedo Sánchez, Leidy Rocío; Samboni Vallejo, Adriana (Director)Economic violence is a social phenomenon that has become normalized in families, evolving from seemingly harmless actions to cycles of control. This type of violence is characterized by the limitation or denial of access to monetary resources, which generates economic dependence and vulnerability. Although this phenomenon can occur in any type of relationship, studies and statistics indicate that, in most cases, women are the main victims. The family, as a source of values and behaviors, reinforces patterns of interactions that can perpetuate this dependency, mainly affecting women. This article aims to analyze how these dynamics of control and dependence manifest themselves in economic violence against women in the family context. The documents analyzed show that the financial control imposed in the family environment negatively impacts the lives of women, restricting their autonomy and ability to access financial resources. The study adopts a qualitative approach and is developed within a hermeneutic paradigm, following the methodology described by Hernández Sampieri (2003). For the research, the documentary review method was used, applying a document analysis technique to examine studies and specialized literature on the topic. One of the findings refers to the fact that women face structural financial discrimination that manifests itself in situations of family violence, such as control of their income, manipulation and denial of access to resources and normalization of this violence
