It is considered the standard for the early detection of hypoxemia, the titration of oxygen, helps to reduce the unnecessary administration of oxygen and rationalize this expensive input. The degree project that was carried out in two medium complexity hospital institutions in 2019, measured the level of knowledge about pulse oximetry through the application of a survey `` validated instrument of the article Popovich DM, Richiuso N, Danek G. It is determined that there is a deficit of knowledge in institutions about pulse oximetry, since health care providers do not recognize the factors that alter pulse oximetry, to determine if there was a significant difference in knowledge between professions and institutions, the Fisher's exact test used in small individual groups.
