Item Desarrollo de una matriz hidrocoloide con iones plata (Ag+ ) y enriquecida con aminoácidos para uso clínico en el tratamiento de úlcera por presión (UPP)(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2024) López Torres, Angelly Natalia; Betancourt Álvarez, Nicole; Ríos Acevedo, Jhon Jairo (Asesor); Alexander Ciro, Yhors (Asesor)The formulation of a hydrocolloid matrix was developed using carboxymethylcellulose (CMC), incorporating silver ions (Ag+ ) and amino acids, aimed at addressing the need for a cost-effective formulation for clinical use in pressure ulcers (PU). A 12 mg/mL Silver Nitrate (AgNO3) solution was prepared and incorporated with L-glycine (2.0 g), Lglutamine (0.05 g), and L-arginine (0.15 g) into a CMC solution at a concentration of 1,5 mg/mL. Its antimicrobial capacity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus was assessed using the disk diffusion method. Finally, it was demonstrated that the formulation maintained its physicochemical stability, the microbiological studies showed effectiveness against the selected strains, and it achieved gradual and sustained release of Ag+ , maintaining an effective concentration over time
