This literature review project aims to analyze the changes in the roughness of lithium disilicate structures using injection and milling methods. The roughness of lithium disilicate surfaces is a critical factor in dentistry due to its impact on adhesion and the quality of dental restorations. Injection and milling methods are two common approaches for manufacturing these structures, and through an in-depth review of the scientific literature, we aim to identify how each method affects the roughness of. The surfaces. Relevant studies comparing the effects of injection and milling on the surface quality of lithium disilicate structures were collected, evaluating advantages, disadvantages, and potential implications for dental practice. This study compared the surface roughness of lithium disilicate frameworks fabricated using the injection and milling methods. The injection method was found to produce smoother and more homogeneous surfaces, with statistically significant differences compared to milling. Although milling allows for greater precision and speed, the lower roughness of the injected material may improve cement adhesion and reduce plaque buildup, benefiting the longevity of the restorations. The choice of method will depend on the clinical need, the available equipment, and the aesthetic requirements of the patient.
