It is a degenerative neurological disorder that progresses over time and has no cure. Its main indicator is memory loss for recent events, but as it progresses, other symptoms may emerge such as lack of interest, sadness, mood swings, restlessness, irrational thoughts, wandering, and in some cases, moments of aggression. This study aimed to investigate to raise awareness about the burden of caregivers of patients with Alzheimer's, to analyze this approach the study was based on analyzing four categories: the effects of caring for a patient with Alzheimer's, feminization and familiarization of care, the coping strategies to overtake the care and care of the caregiver as preventive and accompaniment programs. The method used was a systematic review through searches in the Scopus, Sage Journals, Science Direct databases of the library repository of the Santiago de Cali University between the years 2019 and 2023. In conclusion, caring for a patient with Alzheimer's is a challenge that requires dedication, patience, and understanding. Caregivers play a crucial role in providing emotional, physical and practical support to patients. It is important for carers to take care of themselves, greater awareness and support from society at large is required to ensure that carers receive the necessary support in their important work.
