Item Relación entre la función pulmonar, la fatiga, la capacidad de ejercicio y el estado funcional en sujetos con síndrome post-COVID-19(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2025) Benjumea López, Danna Sofía; Arteaga Prada, Alejandro; Polo-Alzate, Oscar Eduardo; Varela Miranda, Rubén Eduardo; Daza Arana, Jorge Enrique,Herrera Oyola, Lina Fernanda( Asesores)Post-COVID-19 syndrome is characterized by persistent symptoms affecting lung function, exercise capacity, and fatigue. This observational study of 130 participants over 18 years assessed the relationship between lung function and functional status using spirometry, fatigue scales, and physical capacity tests. Results showed a predominance of women, older adults, overweight/obesity, and frequent pulmonary alterations. Correlations were found between FVC, PEF, MIP, MEP and functional variables, with high prevalence of fatigue (24.6%) and functional limitations (>65%). Male sex, advanced age, diabetes, obesity, alcohol consumption, and incomplete vaccination were associated with reduced lung function values. In conclusion, post-COVID-19 syndrome is linked to decreased pulmonary function and greater functional impairment, particularly in the presence of comorbidities and risk factors.
