Item Noninvasive Prototype for Type 2 Diabetes Detection(2021) Castillo García, Javier Ferney; Ortiz, Jesús Hamilton; Ibrahim Khalaf, Osamah; Valencia Hernández, Adrián David; Rodríguez Timaná, Luis CarlosThe present work demonstrates the design and implementation of a human-safe, portable, noninvasive device capable of predicting type 2 diabetes, using electrical bioimpedance and biometric features to train an artificial learning machine using an active learning algorithm based on population selection. In addition, there is an API with a graphical interface that allows the prediction and storage of data when the characteristics of the person are sent. The results obtained show an accuracy higher than 90% with statistical significance (p < 0.05). The Kappa coefficient values were higher than 0.9, showing that the device has a good predictive capacity which would allow the screening process of type 2 diabetes. This development contributes to preventive medicine and makes it possible to determine at a low cost, comfortably, without medical preparation, and in less than 2 minutes whether a person has type 2 diabetes.Item QoS in FANET Business and Swarm Data(Tech Science Press, 2022) Ortiz, Jesús Hamilton; Tavera Romero, Carlos Andrés; Ahmed, Bazil Taha; Khalaf, Osamah IbrahimThis article shows the quality of services in a wireless swarm of drones that form an ad hoc network between them Fly Ad Hoc Networks (FANET). Each drone has the ability to send and receive information (like a router); and can behave as a hierarchical node whit the intregration of three protocols: Multiprotocol Label Switch (MPLS), Fast Hierarchical AD Hoc Mobile (FHAM) and Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), in conclusion MPLS + FHAM + IPv6. The metrics analyzed in the FANET are: Delay, jitter, throughput, lost and sent packets/received. Testing process was carried out with swarms composed of 10, 20, 30 and 40 units; In this work, the stage with 40 droneswas analyzed showing registration processes, and sentmessages sequences between different drones that were part of the same swarm. A special analysis about the traffic between drones (end-to-end) was carried out, as well as the possible security flaws in each drone and the current status and future trends in real services. Regarding future trends, in a real environment, we took as a starting point, metrics results obtained in the simulation (positive according to the obtained results). These results gave us a clear vision of how the network will behave in a real environment with the aim to carry out the experiment on a physical level in the near future. This work also shows the experience quality from the service quality metrics obtained through a mathematical model. This quality of experience model will allow us to use it objectively in the agricultural sector, which is a great interest area and is where we are working with drones. Finally in this article we show our advances for a business model applied to the aforementioned agricultural sector, as well as the data analysis and services available to the end customer. These services available to the end customer have been classified into a basic, medium, advanced and plus level.Item Remote Academic Platforms in Times of a Pandemic(2021) García, Nathalia Ospina; Velásquez, Maria Fernanda Díaz; Romero, Carlos Andrés Tavera; Ortiz, Jesús Hamilton; Khalaf, Osamah IbrahimThe pandemic has accelerated the use and development of video conferencing platforms due to COVID-19, and it is necessary to find an application that best suits our requirements. This article evaluates nine features of nine video conferencing applications to find the best choice. A detailed analysis has been conducted in this article using surveys to collect data from two samples at national and international level. The methodology followed is the CDIO methodology, a tool to address complex problems in four stages: conception, design, implementation, and operation. The primary aim of this paper is to examine which is the best livestreaming option according to the selected criteria, using, as references, well-known applications such as Jitsi, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Big Blue Button, among others. An application of multicriteria analysis is also shown to support the evaluation of these platforms compared to the established criteriaItem Software Architecture for Planning Educational Scenarios by Applying an Agile Methodology(2021) Romero, Carlos Andrés Tavera; Ortiz, Jesús Hamilton; Khalaf, Osamah Ibrahim; Ortega, Wadys MontillaThis paper focuses on research related to the difficulties introduced by academic resources management in institutions of Higher Education and specifically in the Fundación Universitaria de Popayán, a private university, where the planning of academic scenarios is performed manually at the beginning of each academic period for an average of 1,776 subjects and suitable location for an average of 8,000 students, which leads to determine the importance of considering a software architecture that theoretically supports software development, physically and logically, allowing development in a successful and reliable way that reduces errors, costs, and time in the results, specifically for the case study at the Fundación Universitaria de Popayán. Therefore, the research has made it possible to find the need for an architectural vision and a base for the effective development of software, supported by the different views of authors with years of research on the subject. The research itself is supported by the agile design thinking methodology, the basis for meeting the needs of the end user, and where the quality attributes workshop method is included in the prototyping phase, which guarantees to involve stakeholders in advance for the control of quality attributes in the project. This article shows the flaws that arise in the academic scenario management process and the importance of establishing, from the architecture and agile methodology, a process that remedies the difficulties of the process performed.
