Item Actividad física como estrategia de prevención para el síndrome del cuidador cansado: revisión sistemática.(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2023) Zárate Arias, Laura Valentina; Morillo Benavides, Edgar Javier; Gil Tigreros, Anye Daniela; Zuñiga Jiménez, Claudia Tatiana( Asesora)The informal caregiver plays an essential role by providing unpaid care to people with disabilities, which entails physical, psychological, emotional, and social risks that may lead to caregiver burden syndrome. Physical activity, understood as any bodily movement involving energy expenditure, emerges as a key tool to preserve physical and mental health. This bibliographic review (2013–2023), based on randomized clinical trials, case-control studies, and following the PRISMA guidelines with the PEDro instrument, shows that caregiver burden is associated with physical and mental demands as well as unhealthy lifestyles. The results indicate that regular exercise, particularly aerobic activity, reduces stress, anxiety, depression, musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, and cardiovascular risk, thereby improving caregivers’ overall well-being. In conclusion, the reviewed literature suggests that physical activity can reduce the symptoms related to caregiver burden syndrome in those caring for dependent individuals.
