In Colombia, leukemia is the most common type in individuals under 18 years old, while breast, cervical, prostate, and colon cancers are more prevalent among adults. Patients undergoing treatment or in survivorship often abandon physical activity due to fears of worsening their condition; however, regular practice has been shown to significantly improve symptoms. Nowadays, physical exercise is recommended as part of recovery therapy, and physiotherapy incorporates it as an adjuvant treatment for various oncological conditions. The aim of this scoping review was to describe the benefits of physical activity and exercise in oncology patients. A systematic search was conducted in databases such as Web of Science, Scopus, ScienceDirect, MEDLINE (PubMed), Springer, Dialnet, and SAGE Journals, including articles in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. The findings highlight that physical activity and exercise improve quality of life, reduce cancer-related symptoms, and support the overall recovery of patients.
