Item Prevención de riesgos laborales en espacios confinados(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Castaño Cortes, Niyireth; Montealegre Villota, Gabriela; Álvarez Botero, GermanOccupational safety and health in Colombia began to be seen during colonial times, where there were laws and sites for protection for the Indians and for the Spaniards. Some time later, during the process of independence, social security begins to be shaped, and it begins to be supported by the church. It is worth mentioning the first security record seen in a speech by Simón Bolívar. Occupational health standards were incorporated in 1950 and it is true that this was delayed in being established, but in the early twentieth century ideas were proposed in order to establish the standards. Since 1904, General Rafael Uribe was the first to raise a talk related to the safety of workers, after this the years that continued to this were years in which occupational Health was evolving and taking shape as we see it today ( Compensation for fallen or disabled soldiers in war, for victims of accidents at work, etc). From all this the idea was expanded to other places in Colombia and laws and decrees were created that would protect the physical integrity and psychology of the Colombian worker. According to a research study conducted in Colombia between 2013 and 2018, it was concluded that those who work in confined spaces in different parts of the country, had a great weakness in the preventive states at the time of its implementation, since the resources are not optimized in controlling the risks of the confined space worker.
