Item Guía de manejo de cementos selladores endodónticos utilizados por estudiantes de odontología de la universidad santiago de cali periodo 2025 - a(2025) Ordóñez Fernández, Santiago; Monard Vallejo, Juan Camilo; Malte Aguirre, Jhon Jairo; Agudelo, Luis Alfonso(Directora)Endodontic treatment can be successful due to different factors, including the characteristics of the materials, the technique used in the procedure, adequate disinfection and hermetic sealing, which will prevent the entry of pathogens into the root canal and periodontal tissues; (1) currently, professionals use various types of endodontic sealants, which are divided into different groups according to their chemical composition, resin-based sealants, zinc oxideeugenol sealants, cements containing calcium hydroxide, glass ionomer-based sealants and mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) cements. (2) The present study was carried out with the objective of describing the characteristics, properties, biological effects and methods of use of endodontic sealant cements through a management guide to facilitate their use during endodontic treatments carried out by students of the dentistry program at the University of Santiago de Cali. It was observed that there are different types of sealant cements which are used according to the need and treatment to be carried out, each of those found in the literature were described, the company that markets them, their benefits and indications, which makes it easier for the professional to choose the right one at the time of carrying out a procedure.
