    Introduction: Low cardiac output syndrome comprises a set of signs and symptoms determined by the inability of the cardiovascular system to meet tissue metabolic demand due to low minute volume, the most affected organs are usually liver, skeletal muscle, kidneys, brain, bowel, skin and heart. In nursing the NANDA defines defining characteristics as observable signs that are grouped as manifestations for the accurate identification of a nursing diagnosis. Objective: to identify the defining characteristics of decreased cardiac output in the adult person.
