Item Reúso de dispositivos médicos en colombia(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Saldarriaga Flórez, Daniela; Lerma Castillo, Maria Juliana; Sanchez Viveros, Juan Camilo; Duque Perea, Angelica Maria (Directora)The monograph presented below takes up a theoretical review of various investigations on the reuse of medical devices in the Colombian field. From a descriptive methodology with a qualitative approach, academic databases were searched, taking as a criterion of inclusion texts published in the last eight years, with emphasis on the concept of reuse, cases in Colombia and precautions to be taken into account for their implementation; excluding those older ones that do not address the aforementioned issues. The information was analyzed from a tracking matrix. The results obtained are presented in three sections, the first one exposes the generalities about the reuse in medical centers; the second exhibits the precautions required to consider this practice, and the third presents details about its application in Colombia. It is concluded that it is a common practice in general medicine, surgery and odontology, reducing costs of the procedures provided that optimal aseptic measures are implemented, cleaning, disinfection, functional tests, reconditioning, sterilization, as well as luminescence tests, cultures, biological evaluation and simulation of use
