Item La escuela como un escenario propicio para formar ciudadanos resilientes ante amenazas naturales asociadas a sismos en la institución educativa Marcelino Champagnat de armenia Quindío(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2016) Alfaro García, Luz Stella; Janamejoy Erazo, Paola Andrea; Rengifo Gallego, Luz AdrianaThis study sought to set up teaching-learning elements, for generating knowledge in the risk management process in students of the Marcelino Champagnat School in Armenia Quindio; for instance, in addressing school risk management of natural hazards specifically earthquakes, hence it was necessary to account for the physical and geographical environment, establishing its own characteristics and dangers that may face such institution. For this reason, the theoretical and conceptual aspect is addressed in order to achieve the risk management planning as a key factor, to explain to the educational community everything related to the dynamics of plate tectonics, geological phenomena such as volcanic eruptions and earthquakes. Students are a permanent group for performing several works on evacuation and management of critical situations, to achieve a better development against certain phenomena that have recurrence. The prevention and mitigation of risks as a typical action of the different actors that are part of this educational institution, was a significant finding of this research. Besides, various educational strategies were presented in order to generate the necessary information on natural hazards associated with earthquakes, to which the institution is exposed to. Finally a contingency plan is presented which allowed to prevent, mitigate and act resiliently on the risks generated by earthquakes in the Marcelino Champagnat School.
