Entrenamiento muscular inspiratorio en modalidades deportivas cíclicas: revisión sistemática
(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2022) Ibarra Soto, Maryam; Orozco García, Sandra Lizeth; Daza Arana, Jorge Enrique (Director)
Respiratory muscle training is a possible solution to avoid muscle fatigue, which causes the metabolic reflex or metaboreflex, which produces vasoconstriction of the blood vessels of the peripheral muscles, which leads to a deterioration in respiratory performance. In this way, this type of training is a possible solution to avoid this type of deterioration in physical activity and sports, which includes cyclical sports such as swimming, cycling, athletics, rowing, cycling, among others. The objective of this systematic review was to analyze the results obtained in the experimental study with inspiratory muscle training (IMT) in this sports modality, to determine the effects on cardiopulmonary performance, respiratory muscle strength and lung function. An advanced search was performed in the Web of Science, PubMed, Scopus, PeDro, ScienceDirect, OXFORD, LILACS, Taylor & Francis Group, Springer and SciELO databases, following the guidelines of the Preferred Reporting Elements for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis. (PRISM). In conclusion, the prescription of IMT is considered an effective method to improve performance and cardiopulmonary function in athletes of cyclic modalities. Failures were primarily based on IMT programs with threshold and resistive load devices for four to twelve weeks.
