This article contains information related to contextual definitions adopted by authors that delve into the characterization of risk definitions, in the analysis it is evident that there are many challenges when addressing the issue, regardless of the activity of the organization. Currently many methods are known to analyze and evaluate the risks that can cause an effect of uncertainty, yielding a result that can be positive (opportunity for improvement) or that can be negative (threat), is taken as reference ISO 9001: 2015 in its requirement the risk-based thinking that addresses methods of analysis and evaluation of the risks that may arise in an organization. Therefore, the AMFE method (analysis of the mode and effect of potential failure) is carried out, as an application tool to arrive at a result that allows identifying the failures in the process and in the product or service, as well as preventing possible rejections, allowing the development of alternatives towards continuous improvement.
