Introduction: Papillomatous lesions are multiple nodular, warty papillary or pedicled elevations of asymptomatic soft epithelial tissue. At the oral level, laryngeal papillomatosis, based on studies, is the most common disease caused by the human papilloma virus, thus being the most similar in regards to this study. This research is important, since papillomatous lesions can transform into squamous cell carcinoma, taking into account VPH as the main cause. Objective: To characterize papillomatous lesions in the oropharynx in a juvenile population from 18 to 25 years of age in a Dental clinic of the Santiago de Cali University.3 Materials and methods: This study was carried out by means of a clinical observation of the oropharynx by the researchers, in 100 participants with ages from 18 to 25 years who attended the dental clinic of the Santiago de Cali University, in addition to the use of a measurement such as direct observation, survey and data record format. Results: For the morphological description, the nodular form was found more frequently with 74%, location in the posterior wall of the oropharynx with 65%, in relation to the distribution variable, more frequent multiple injuries were found with 63%, pink in color (67%) and diameters less than 5mm (28%) with a predominance in the male gender. 19% of the participants became clinically healthy. When analyzing risk factors related to the presence of papillomatous lesions, the relationship between the presence of lesions and the practice of oral sex (84.30%) was found statistically significant and in terms of alcohol consumption 73.8% of the participants who consume it present lesions papillomatous.
