    Implementation of lean six sigma in higher education institutions: A comprehensive review

    Las metodologías de Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma y Lean Six Sigma (LSS) han sido ampliamente implementadas en diversos ámbitos, escenarios e industrias; las Instituciones de Educación Superior (IES) no han sido la excepción; sin embargo, su implementación ha tenido y tiene barreras por superar. El propósito de este artículo es presentar un análisis de diversos escritos de estudio de casos en los que se ha implementado Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing o su integración LSS en IES y de artículos conceptuales con el fin de examinar la manera en que se han aplicado estas metodologías en IES, sus motivaciones y principios necesarios requeridos para una efectiva implementación.

    Reducción de los costos de no calidad en una empresa de manufactura de muebles de oficina bajo la metodología Lean Six Sigma

    The purpose of this project is to seek the reduction of non-quality costs in an office furniture manufacturing company using the Lean Six Sigma methodology, throughout the development of the case study will focus on the DMAIC methodology (Define, Measure , Analyze, Improve and Control). The application of the tools specified in the DMAIC methodology is carried out which, in defining, is the voice of the client (VOC), which is the starting point for the development of the methodology, as the immersion is carried out in this case The application will show specific tools such as quality-based deployment, QFD for its acronym in English Quality Function Deployment, the data collection plan is defined, in order to perform normality tests, capacity analysis and graphs of control, for the analyze stage the Pareto diagram is used, and through it the cause analysis tools are executed (Fishbone and 5 why), after performing the improve stage, stage in which tools are applied of solution selection, Failure modes and FMAE effects analysis by its acronym in English Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, cost benefit analysis to be able to select To narrate the order of implementation of the selected solutions, and finally in the control stage, the implementation of the improvements is monitored, and consolidation of the savings achieved totaling $ 391 Million over a period of one year.

    Revisión de literatura Sistema Integrado de Gestión: ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018

    This article makes a review of the Integrated Management System composed of the ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System, ISO 14001: 2015 Environmental Management System and ISO 45001: 2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management System through technical standards, conceptual articles and case studies with a four-year observation window in the databases PROQUEST, SCIENCE DIRECT. The review resulted in 21 conceptual articles, 1 case study articles, distributed as follows: 6 studies for the Quality Management System, 7 studies for the Environmental Management System, 7 studies for the Occupational Health and Safety System, and 2 studies for Integrated Management System. The most relevant results found are: The standards of ISO management systems during the last years have had changes in their structure, but maintain their base in the continuous improvement cycle PHVA (Plan, Do, Verify, Act), which applies for all its implementation. The high-level structure is the common basis for the management systems ISO9001: 2015, ISO 14001: 2015 and ISO 45001: 2018, that is, the three standards have 10 chapters and their titles, the main terms and definitions are identical, what facilitates the integration of them. Having an integrated management system is very beneficial because it saves time and resources by improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the systems and the organization.
