Item Sintomatología musculoesquelética, sobrecarga y calidad de vida en cuidadores informales: revisión de alcance 2010–2022(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2023) Guerrero Agudelo, Natalia; Toledo Benavides, Diego Alejandro; Arroyo Valencia, Luz Dary(Directora)Informal caregivers play a crucial role in supporting individuals with chronic diseases, yet this responsibility can compromise their physical and mental well-being. The aim of this scoping review was to describe musculoskeletal symptoms, caregiver burden, and quality of life among informal caregivers based on literature published between 2010 and 2022. Open-access articles in Spanish, English, and Portuguese were retrieved from databases such as ScienceDirect, PubMed, Informe Académico, Google Scholar, and NCBI, resulting in 21 studies that met the inclusion criteria. Findings show that most caregivers are women, providing at least 6 hours of daily care for up to 10 years. The predominant symptom is low back pain, associated with high levels of burden and deterioration in physical, social, and mental functioning. It is concluded that caregiving negatively impacts health and that strategies should be implemented to support caregivers and promote their overall well-being.
