Item Microencapsulación de fragancia mediante la técnica de polimerización interfacial con pared de poliurea para perfumación prolongada de textiles(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2022) Villamil Salazar, Stefanía; Sánchez Rojas, Karen Lizeth; Flórez López, Edwin (Director); Grande Tovar, Carlos David (Codirector)Interfacial polymerization encapsulation is a technology that allows fragrances or any active ingredient to be incorporated into a coating that protects them from interaction with their environment. This work aimed to develop polyurea wall microcapsules with a content of 38% creamy fruit fragrance created by La Tour S.A. for application in textiles, adjusting a synthesis methodology and starting from the monomers 2,4-diisocyanate of toluene and guanidine carbonate. This in-situ polymerization results in the formation of a biodegradable wall of water-insoluble polyurea, which is synthesized from the reaction between an isocyanate group and an amino group. Using the FT-IR technique, the presence of urea functional groups in the microcapsules was verified, and the reproducibility of the methodology was demonstrated. Optical microscopy showed the spherical morphology of the capsules and a size between 0.5-1.0 μm. The results of the application of the Headspace solid phase microextraction technique (HS-SPME-CG/MS) supported by the evaluation of the trained sensory panel, demonstrated that the fragrance does not present degradation during the process, and that the encapsulation gives greater durability and intensity compared to the uncapsulated fragrance. Additionally, the cost of the synthesis carried out is favorable for the company allowing this technology to be offered at a competitive cost and with national production.
