Item Síntesis, caracterización y posible actividad biológica de compuestos de coordinación obtenidos a partir de antimonio (III/V) con metformina(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2021) Galindo Larrahondo, Jorge Armando; D'vries Arturo, Richard Fernando (Director)The synthesis and characterization of a new coordination compound was carried out from Sb3+ in a stoichiometric ratio 1:2 against metformin hydrochloride. The characterization of the complex obtained and the ligand was carried out by thermogravimetric analysis combined with differential scanning calorimetry (TGA/DSC), spectroscopy (UVVis, FTIR) and powder X-ray diffraction (P-XRD). From the spectroscopic and thermal information collected, it was possible to propose the structural formula [SbCl(C4H11N5)2] with a possible pyramidal geometry of square base and coordination index 5. Finally, X-ray powder diffraction analysis suggests the formation of a new metal-organic complex of Sb3+ and metformin. However, it was not possible to fully characterize the structure of the complex, due to lack of purification and little spectroscopic and structural information collected.
