Item Implementación de justo a tiempo en el proceso de abastecimiento de materia prima en una empresa de refrigeradores industriales(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Fory Lucumi, Jhojan Estevan; Calderón Rosero, Cristian Eduardo; Martínez Escobar, NathalyThe continuous improvement of processes is an important issue for companies, which is why they seek to implement strategies that help them to reduce economic, time and resource losses. The methodology proposed in this work was Just in Time, which has as a basic principle: that customers are served right at the precise moment, exactly in the required quantity, with products of the highest quality and through a production process that use the minimum possible inventory and be free of any waste or unnecessary cost. This article is a case study about a company located in the municipality of Caloto, Cauca, specifically, in the process of raw material supply, because in that process was identified the constant presence of line stoppage time generating overtime due to the lack of material in the production sub-areas, which caused a monthly increase of 182 extra hours in the year 2018 until the month of August, in addition, there were logistical problems with delays in the arrival of materials at the warehouse. The data made it possible to show that, in the months of June, October and November of the year 2017, there was a considerable number of stops in the production line which was equivalent to an average of 298 extra hours with a value of $ 1'614.352 per month and in that year the total amount was $ 42'743,420, which generated reprocessing, losses and delays in manufacturing. The objective of this work was to improve the delivery times of raw material from the warehouse to the different sub-areas of the production department, with the implementation of Just-in-Time. To do this, a map of the value chain was made, which allowed knowing those activities that added value to the process and which did not. After that, it was possible to eliminate these activities and reduce delays and waste of up to 65% per month. Thanks to which the most relevant problems were identified and solutions were given.
