Item Desarrollo de un prototipo para telecardiología como instrumento de ayuda al diagnóstico para su aplicación en zonas rurales(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Aguilar Caro, Carlos Andrés; Fajardo Barrero, JuanAs the health care industry needs extends across the length and breadth of different far zones, Information and communication technologies represents an alternative to on-side health care, allowing telemedicine to become key factor for health care using remote assistance. Telecardiology (join of telemedicine and cardiology) has been proved to be active and constant developed application, providing diagnostic services and monitoring patients with special health conditions. The main elements on the telecardiology include acquisition, processing and visualization components, whose has as a main goal to obtain the electrocardiographic signal directly from the patient for analysis. This research paper describes a telecardiology mobile prototype design as component of a telemedicine platform, taking as objective the potential application in rural areas of Meta department. Results present the data obtained by the designed mobile prototype and the telecardiology platform proposed. The signal is acquired, processed and transmitted to a central server, where is stored and used for analysis, showing the expected pattern and using small bandwidths to its transmission, less than 30 kbps per lead. By using this device and the associated components, it will be possible to count on a diagnostic tool for patients located in remote areas in Meta; Its use can be extend later on to other regions in the country where access is limited not only for doctors but also proper medical equipment.
