Item Intercambio gaseoso(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2021) Erazo Escobar, Camilo Alejandro; Segura Ordoñez, Alejandro (Director)The gas exchange process is a topic of great interest because it explains how the different physiological changes act in the human body when facing different heights at sea level and how the physical laws of gases act within the lung and thus Even the physiological adaptations that are made throughout the human body in order to achieve optimal transport of oxygen and carbon dioxide. The objective is to understand the different factors that are part of this process from when the air enters the lungs until the moment it is eliminated. Materials and methods: a bibliographic search of books, explanatory, analytical and experimental scientific articles, bibliographic reviews, was carried out in the databases: Scielo, ScienceDirect, Elsevier, between the years 2011 and 2021, in relation to the gas exchange. Results: the different physiological processes that occur within the lung are recognized to have a good gas exchange process and thus achieve an adequate supply of oxygen to the tissues and the adequate elimination of carbon dioxide. Taking into account that for this process to be suitable, a contribution of several internal mechanisms is required, if an alteration of one or more mechanisms occurs it causes a deficient gas exchange producing a reduction in oxygen or an increase in carbon dioxide at the level blood fluid. Conclusions: It is invited to continue a more in-depth investigation related to the topic of interest in order to have a better coverage and application in the different situations that may occur either in normal or pathological states that may be producing these alterations at the pulmonary level.
