As people age, their sexuality may change and evolve, but it remains an integral part of their physical and emotional well-being. According to a study by the World Health Organization, sexual activity remains an important part of the lives of many older adults. Methodology: A type of documentary research is proposed, also called systematic review or scoping review, a tool that will ensure the objective and accurate review of the information. Articles published between 2018 and 2023, in Spanish and English. Studies that described factors that influence the sexual behavior of older adults. Results: Fifteen articles were extracted from the included studies and grouped into four categories; physical and sexual changes in old age; emotional and psychological factors; Social and cultural factors and the role of intimacy and quality of life. In terms of types of research, qualitative studies were based on a variety of philosophical perspectives and used in-depth interviews, questionnaires or focus groups to collect data. Longitudinal, observational cross-sectional type, two mixed method designs and seven multicenter randomized controlled trials. Conclusions: After carrying out the existing literature review that addresses sexuality in elderly patients, it can be generally concluded that people over 60 years of age behave, practice and live their sexuality in different ways, and that there are various factors that They influence it to be carried out in a full and satisfactory manner, both for those who have an adequate general state of health, as well as those who have certain more limiting health conditions.
