Item Plan de mejora para la optimización del control de inventario en World Medical Devices S.A.S.(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2020) Donoso Leal, Alexander; Reyes Rodríguez, Sara Nair; Henao, Juan DavidThe purpose of this applied research monograph is to design an inventory management system for the company WORLD MEDICAL DEVICES S.A.S., which allows maintaining an adequate stock of medical devices and fulfillment in order deliveries. To achieve this objective, a diagnosis of the current situation was carried out using different industrial engineering tools such as cause-effect diagram, Pareto diagram, ABC classification of inventories, forecasts and analysis of demand, in order to identify the elements most important to focus for the development of the system. According to the result of the analysis, we proceeded to select the inventory model "continuous review system", this being the only one that allows us to calculate the reorder points that, combined with the economic order quantity, becomes a permanent control model of inventories. Finally, action plans are designed to be followed in order to target the deficiencies in inventory management at WM Devices SAS and thereby improve the level of service and customer confidence.
