(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Aguirre Rodríguez, Yuli Valeria; Cuellar Zuluaga, Natalia; Pacheco Valderrama, Alejandra; Ramos Álvarez Andres Adolfo
Tinnitus is a manifestation that occurs due to diverse causes that are difficult to clarify, because it is not determined as the exclusive symptom of a specific alteration, but it can be presented as the appearance of a pathology of any type or secondary to an existing one, and It can cause psychosocial alterations. In this sense, there is a need to analyze the relationships of tinnitus with antecedents and medical and audiological diagnoses. This investigation was carried out with a qualitative-quantitative, observational cross-sectional method. We chose 180 clinical records of patients who attended the Visual and Hearing Clinic of the Institute for Blind and Deaf Children of Valle del Cauca in 2018, who were diagnosed with subjective tinnitus and were referred from otolaryngology to audiology. From the results it was possible to establish the relationship between tinnitus and hearing losses (71.6%), finding higher frequency in normal hearing with falls in acute frequencies () in degrees from mild to mild to moderate (); women presented a higher number of cases in tinnitus (58.3%), related diagnoses (58.3%) and hearing loss (51.9%) compared to men; Finally, hearing loss and tinnitus are related to the increase in age in a range of 60 to 69 years (27.8%).
