Item Telemedicina Como Estrategia Para Reducir El Hacinamiento De Pacientes En Las Ips colombianas(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2023) Chinchilla Alfonso, Sandra Jineth; Carlos Alberto, López Guzmán(Director)Telehealth has emerged as a crucial tool in healthcare, especially in the context of the pandemic. Health Service Providing Institutions (IPS) have faced the challenge of overcrowding and overcrowding of patients. In this scenario, telehealth is presented as an innovative solution to efficiently address these problems. Aim. This is a scoping review that aims to collect systematic information to understand the applicability of telemedicine in IPS in Colombia as a strategy to avoid overcrowding. In particular, it seeks to implement a triage system through video calls, in which pre-hospital care personnel play a crucial role in the identification and care of patients, those who do not require emergency care therefore do not need to go to any health entity and Contrary to that, they can be attended to by doctors and specialists through video calls, saving resources and time for both staff and the patient. Methodology: The integration of telemedicine platforms in the triage process. Pre-hospital care staff will conduct initial assessments via video calls to determine the patient's condition. Predefined clinical criteria will be used to classify patients into categories, thus facilitating efficient and timely medical care. Results: A significant decrease in waiting time and workload in the IPS is evident, by accurately and quickly identifying patients requiring care. In addition, it is expected to improve the efficiency of the health system by providing appropriate care depending on the severity of the medical situation, also optimizing the management of resources dedicated to health. Conclusions. The implementation of telemedicine in triage shows to be a promising strategy to mitigate overcrowding and overcrowding in IPS. Preliminary results suggest that this approach not only optimizes healthcare resources, but also improves patient care by ensuring a rapid and appropriate response to their medical needs. This study highlights the importance of leveraging technology to transform and improve healthcare processes, especially in emergency and high-demand situations. The application of telemedicine in prehospital triage emerges as a viable and effective solution to address current challenges in the health system.
