Aim. To analyze which are the most recurrent musculoskeletal osteomuscular disorders most recurrent in dental professionals in order to make the risks to make the risks visible and propose activities to reduce them. Methodology. A literature review was conducted using the descriptive non-experimental method organized following the qualitative approach. Results. The PRISMA statement guideline was followed, limiting the results to publications made in the last five years (2019 to 2024). The databases PubMed, Sage Journal, Springer, Scopus, SciELO, Redalyc, Dialnet and Google Scholar were searched, resulting in 176 researches in total between articles and theses. Forty-one were excluded due to title and 53 were duplicates. Of the remaining 82 articles, 58 did not meet the inclusion criteria, leaving 24 articles that were selected for the literature review. Conclusions. The most common musculoskeletal disorders in dentists mainly affect the neck, shoulders and lumbar region, due to the static and repetitive nature of the profession. Among the main risk factors identified are inadequate posture, long working hours, repetitive movements and insufficient use of ergonomic equipment. In addition, individual factors such as age, sedentary lifestyle and work stress increase vulnerability to these conditions. The most effective prevention and management strategies include the implementation of ergonomic principles, the promotion of regular physical activity and the adoption of active breaks.
