Item Caracterización de la población gestantes y madres lactantes en una institución de educación superior de Cali(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2025) Castillo Perea, Britney Melissa; Muñoz Sánchez, Dahyana; Valencia Mina, Oscar David; Chacón Murillas, Brigith Nataly (Directora)Breastfeeding is a fundamental intervention during the first year of life, and is considered the optimal standard of infant nutrition due to its multiple benefits for both the newborn and the mother. From a biological point of view, breast milk provides a balanced nutritional intake, specifically adapted to the needs of the infant, with essential macronutrients and micronutrients that facilitate proper growth and development. In addition, it is crucial in the psycho-emotional development of the child, promoting a mother-child bond that has long term repercussions on the well-being of the individual. This bond is built through close contact and interaction during breastfeeding, which strengthens the baby's trust and emotional security.
