In this chapter, the respective description of the evaluation of muscular performance is made, making known the different methods, then the scientific evidence on the subject is presented. The concept of mobility is defined as the ability to move from one place to another to complete an activity or task, considering also the management of body postures, changes in the position of the body and its displacements (Mobility in bed, transfers, mobility in the wheelchair and walking). This chapter first establishes different concepts starting from the guide of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), which defines mobility (including locomotion). some risk factors are mentioned that make it relevant to impairment of mobility. Cardiovascular and pulmonary pathologies, skeletal muscle or multisystem, define the state of health or pathology of an individual, the deterioration of functions such as joint integrity and mobility, motor function and muscle performance.Item Prescripción del ejercicio físico y su efecto en la salud mental en niños y adolescentes, una revisión de alcance 2013-2023(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2024) Banguero Oñate, Hilary Andrea; Hurtado Mosquera, Juan David; Carvajal Tello, Nathali (Directora); Segura Ordoñez, Alejandro (Director)Item Rehabilitación basada en la comunidad relacionadas con la inclusión social de personas con discapacidad en el periodo 2013-2022 revisión exploratoria(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2022) Espinosa Cárdenas, Claudia Daniela; Cavanzo Rodríguez, Nathalia Lisbeth; Carvajal Tello, Nathali (Directora)Item Técnicas de desobstrucción bronquial(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2021) Sánchez Ospina, Valentina; Guzmán Ruiz, Kelly Johana; Carvajal Tello, Nathali (Directora)Introduction: The main objective of the unobstruction techniques is to clear the airways obstructed by secretions. In this chapter the respective description of the respiratory physiotherapy techniques, which correspond to the Anglo-Saxon and European Schools, is made, then we proceed to the scientific evidence of these techniques. Materials and methods: A bibliographic review of articles related to bronchial clearance techniques was carried out. The articles were descriptive, systematic reviews, experimental and quasi-experimental, the search was performed in databases such as ScienceDirect, Elsevier, Pedro, PubMed, Scielo, Google Academic, between the years 2011-2021. Results: After having performed the search, the articles where the effectiveness of the techniques in the different pathologies that compromise the airways are taken into account, and the articles that do not show significant results in patients with obstructed airways are excluded. Conclusion: It was deduced that the techniques of the Anglo-Saxon School were discontinued a few years ago due to complications in patients and lack of scientific evidence. On the other hand, it was found that the techniques of the European School had better results with respect to their effectiveness. However, it is suggested to continue research to strengthen the scientific evidence on bronchial clearance physiotherapy techniques.
